How DO You Know You Are Among God’s Chosen?
A Study Outline
I. How do we know who are saints? There is only one criterion: God’s Holy Spirit must be within the person.
A. II Corinthians 13:5. Jesus Christ is in you expect you be reprobates.
B. Romans 8:7-11, The carnal mins is enmity against God and is not subject to the last of God; with the spirit pf Christ in you, the Father will also raise you up.
C. Galatians 4:4-7. Because we are sons, God has sent forth His spirit into our hearts.
D. I Peter 1:10-11. The spirit of Christ is in the saints.
E. I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20. We are the temple of God, and the spirit dwells in us.
II. How do the saints receive the spirit of God? Through a specific calling and choosing by the Father to become His Sons, and through baptism and the laying on of hands. Receiving that spirit is a gift that cannot be purchased. (Compare Acts 2:38 with Acts 8:18-22.) Neither can a person receive it of his own power. It can only be given by the Father.
[Note: When the spirit of God is given in full measure: all or nothing. John 3:34; 1:16. Measure (Strong 3358) = metron, “a measure, literally or figuratively; by implication a limited portion or degree.” Our full expression of its power is only limited by our human nature suppressing its complete function, which function we will have when spirits.’
A. Matthew 3:13-17 Jesus gave us the example of baptism.
B. Mathew 20:16; 22:14. Many are called nut few are chosen.
C. Mark 13:19-20. For the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
D. I Corinthians 1:26-29. God has chosen the foolish, the weak, and the base things of this world that no flesh should glory.
E. Ephesians 1:4-5. We were chose before the foundation of the world.
F. Acts 2:38-41. Repent, be baptized, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
G. James 2:5. God has chosen the poor too this world who are rich in faith to be heirs of their Kingdom.
H. I Peter 2:1-9. We have been chosen to receive an inheritance that is incorruptible.
I. Revelation 17:14. Those that are with the Lamb are called and chosen and faithful.
J. Hebrews 6:1-2. The doctrine of Christ include baptism and the laying on of hands.
K. Acts 8:14-17. The people has hands laid on them and received the Holy Spirit.
L. Acts 9:17-18. Paul had hands laid on him and received the Holy Spirit.
M. Acts 19:1-6. At Ephesus Paul baptized disciples and laid hands on them.
N. I Timothy 4:14. Gifts of the spirit come with the laying on of hands.
O. II Timothy 1:6-7. God’s gift is given by the laying on of hands.
P. John 6:44. No man can come to Christ except the Father that sent Christ draw him.
III. Those that are called and chosen of God will be known by their fruits! They will be doing the will of the Father, as did Jesus Christ.
A. John 4:19; 5:30. Jesus Christ was committed to doing the will of the Father.
B. Matthew 7:15-20. Every good tree brings forth good fruit; you will know them by their fruits.
C. Galatians 5:22-25. The fruits of God’s spirit are in those possess His spirit.
D. Psalm 1:1-4, 119:97-104. The sprit of God in the saints will cause them to love and perform God’s laws.
E. Deuteronomy 5:12-15. The Sabbath is one of those commands that we love to fulfill.
F. Exodus 31:13-17. The Sabbath is a sigh unto His people forever.
G. Hebrews 8:10-11. God’s law are internal for the saints, a manifestation of the operation of the Holy Spirit placed within them.
H. Romans 12:10; Galatians 6:10. There will be a natural preference to be with, and serve, God’s people.
IV. In summary, you are among God’s Sons, the saints, if the following are true in your life:
A. You have been called and chosen by the Father to be an eternal spirit in His future government on earth.
B. You have received the gift of God’s spirit through baptism and the laying on of hands.
C. You are actively expressing the fruits of the spirit of God living within you, in response to desiring to please the One who has called you.
